As you consider the idea of therapy and begin your search for a therapist, I’m guessing you may feel pretty vulnerable.
I get it, I’ve been there.
As your unique story unfolds, together we will get there. Over time and at your own pace we will explore your current life, your relationships, your familial history, and the systems in which you live.
"You might be struggling with interpersonal relationships, work issues, symptoms of depression & anxiety, family dynamics, or personal identity. My goal is to create a space for you to feel safe enough to explore any and all areas of your life. "
Psychodynamic Approach
In the first session I will ask you some questions about your current life and history.
The format then shifts to free flowing conversations where you get to choose what to talk about in each session. I will be an active participant with you.
We will work collaboratively and with curiosity to explore who you are right now and where you want to get to.
Anti-Oppressive Lens
I strive to be mindful and aware of the many aspects that make up your identity and the way they intersect and interact within your world.
My social location as a white, gender queer, able-bodied person factors into our therapeutic relationship.
I am not suggesting this will be the focus of our work but it’s important for me to let you know how I think about the systems in which we all live.
